Etsy Holiday Gift Guide
Disclosure: this post contains affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, I may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. If you've followed me for any length of time, you know that I'm passionate about supporting independent artists. Couple that admiration with a downright thirst for gift-giving and when the season shakes out, the vast majority of the gifts I give will be purchased on Etsy.com.
If you've never shopped on Etsy, it can be a little intimidating to get your bearings. Start by exploring the homepage where you'll find curated collections of products by category. You don't need to know exactly what you're looking for - use the search bar to shop product tags such as 'gifts for men' or 'customized gifts.' Shop owners will add keywords to their product titles to make them appear in the right place for the right customer. You can also click on the Discover button to be taken down a winding road of one-of-a-kind treasures.
With that said, Etsy is so much more than gift-giving. One of my favorite sources for decorative pillows is Etsy shop Arianna Belle. My real estate logo was designed via Etsy shop owner Salt and Cove. I have purchased downloadable invitations, marketing collateral, vinyl exterior address numbers and walls and walls of artwork just to name a few.
In light of the holiday season, today I've rounded up some of my favorite Etsy gift ideas. While you're shopping, take pride knowing you are supporting small businesses and fueling the independent artist community all around the world.
I love the hand-lettered aesthetic of these stocking labels - a sweet compliment to your mantle decor or, add a thin velvet ribbon and convert them into ornaments. Up your holiday packaging game by using them as gift labels. You can't beat the price!
I can't think of a better gift idea for mom or grandma than this customized signature bracelet. Gather up each of the grandkids handwritten names and freeze them in time. The classic shape of the bracelet means it will blend well with an everyday stack while subtly boasting special meaning.
I have this laptop backpack on my Christmas list. Made of high quality leather and lined with cotton, it fits a 13" laptop along with the rest of your odds and ends. Plenty of pockets to keep you organized and the backpack option adds extra functionality.
Send in your family portrait and have it recreated in cross stitch. These would make such a great gift for newlyweds or those whose family is growing (they even offer a stork for those expecting!) I love gifts that can be given year after year - and for those with a growing family, this is a perfect way to watch your story unfold.
For the pet lovers in your life, these custom painted pet ornaments are such a special gift to give. They also offer memorial ornaments for those who lost a precious pet. I gave one of these last Christmas and the sentiment was warmly received.
Have your kids art recreated into a one of a kind masterpiece. I love giving gifts for kids that aren't toys - something that won't find its way on to a shelf never to be played with again. Have your child do a self-portrait or replicate the same design year after year. Create a gallery of their artwork as it evolves and matures.
Few things rival the gift of a custom painted portrait of your home. I love the illustrated quality of this shop, but there are so many varieties available through different artists - watercolors, digital recreations - you can even include your family! Search 'custom house portraits' for more options.
A self-inking stamp is one of my favorite gifts to give. Choose from one of the pre-formatted designs or work directly with the shop owner to create a design unique to your family. Functional gifts are my favorite variety!
Attending a holiday party this year? Rather than bringing the standard bottle of wine, pick up a boxwood wreath and customize it with a laser cut plaque in honor of the hosts. Once the holidays have past, it still acts as a unique addition to any front door.
Want to wow your recipient this season? Are you daring enough to gift original art? Some of my favorite artists can be found with shops on Etsy and it can be a fabulous way to purchase art at affordable prices.
I've never met a silhouette I didn't love and these custom silhouette necklaces are on a level all their own. I love the classic shape while introducing modern materials like wood, color and mixed metal finishes.
Our family is big into camper trailer trips, so this year I'm giving customized camp mugs for each member of our family. These come with all different sentiments to suit any outdoor lover on your list. Make them a keepsake by customizing them with the destination you traveled to this year.
I would love to hear about your favorite shops on Etsy - or what unique, sentimental, customizable gifts you rely on Etsy for. Leave them in the comments below - I love exploring new-to-me shops!
