What's in my shopping cart?
The days are warming up and the end of the school year is approaching! I’ve found myself browsing online to fulfill voids in my home and closet as our list of summer commitments grows. Graduation parties, weddings, closings, new projects - today I’m sharing a look at what I’m adding to my online shopping cart to prepare for the impending summer fun ahead.
Swingy Plaid Skirt - I absolutely love the colors of this swingy plaid skirt. The shape is classic with a smart pattern in playful hues making it suitable for anything from a backyard grad party to an afternoon of house hunting.
Block Print Swimsuit - You already know that I gravitate toward all shades of pink, but paired with red is quite possibly my favorite combination. I love that this suit has a fresh take on a classic one-piece that is functional enough for chasing kids around the Edina Aquatic Center.
Sunkissed Beach Towel - Each summer I stock up on beach towels - Homegoods is a great place to start or take advantage of this citrus motif and more - currently on sale. Beach towels make great gifts on their own - or as part of a basket for a summer hostess gift or functional kids birthday gift.
Tiered Skirt - Clearly I have a thing for ruffles right now. I love this tiered wrap skirt, especially paired with a simple tee and a textured summer bag.
Casablanca Skirt - I happened upon this skirt when out browsing one afternoon and instantly fell in love with it. The silky fabric would make it a dressy enough skirt to wear for a summer wedding or keep it casual by throwing on a jean jacket and simple woven slides.
Gingham Dress - More ruffles - this time the lightweight and breathable variety. Throw on this gingham dress for a bike ride over to the farmers market (you can check out my local guide!)
Shower Curtain - I’ve been growing tired of our plain white waffle weave shower curtains and looking for something a little more unique. This shower curtain has a nice substantial fabric that hangs with presence. The tassel detail is a playful addition that balances the otherwise simple lines.
Battery Operated Fairy Lights - I’ve been working on graduation party centerpieces for a few of the graduates in my life. These inexpensive, battery-operated fairy lights turn a simple mason jar into a glowy glass lantern. Use poster putty to adhere the battery pack to the underside of the lid leaving only the starry strands visible for your tablescape.
Knot Top Headband - These knot top headbands are everywhere! A fun way to add a little something extra to an otherwise ordinary outfit. I’m loving the beading on this one.
Enamelware Plates - I am all about enamelware plates, bowls, tumblers and mugs! These are a stylish alternative to ordinary outdoor dishware that tends to be plastic with patterns that are easy to grow tired of. I love the classic black and white but they come in a variety of colors and patterns.
Tassel Garland - I love tassel garland for creating photo backdrops or decor for any event. If you’ve ever made it yourself, you know the process can be tedious. Thankfully, we can order any color palette we want and have it shipped to us preassembled and ready to hang.
Video Doorbell - Lots of upcoming closings means I’m stocking up on one of my favorite closing gifts for new homeowners. These video doorbells are a great place to start with introducing smart home technology into your house. Give it a try and see if it’s a theme you want to expand into other areas of your home.
